On the Top of the World: NEPAL
Nepal is a country of great beauty—yet tucked away from well-travelled trekking routes, stark worlds of poverty exist. More than 85% of the population live in rural areas, subsisting on less than $2 a day. Child and maternal death rates run high, literacy levels are low. Hundreds of thousands of people live without basic facilities such as clean water to drink, latrines, and quality education.
Perhaps the most devastating problem in rural Nepal is the scarcity of adequate healthcare, and its tragic consequences. |
The Himalayan Outreach Foundation is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization.
Our mission is to promote healthcare in rural Nepal by:
- Conducting Health Education & Preventative Healthcare Programs
- Improving Primary Care & Emergency Medical Services through Equipment Provisioning & Medical Staff Training
- Partnering with Local, District, & National Offices to Identify Healthcare Needs & to Implement Programs that Meet those Needs
